Learning & Development Learning Session on Mental Health

The Learning and Development Committee (L&D) conducted another learning session on “Mental Health: Let’s Break It Down (Self-Care and Wellness)” last November 15,2025 held at the Dr Alejandro Albert Elementary School. This was attended by 60+ Grade 7 to college ATP scholars.

Significant key points were discussed on how students should be more conscious of doing self-care, knowing well the current state of their minds and stepping up to identify support to secure help from family, friends and professionals. This was well explained by the keynote speaker, Dr. Rommel Agbayani, registered psychologist doing consultancy work for psychological clinics in Makati. He is also a volunteer for disaster relief program providing psychological intervention for the survivors of natural calamities in the country. Likewise providing psychological insights and counselling for OFWs working around the world.

After his brief presentation, he was joined in a panel discussion by Ms. Zera Rivera, a registered nurse who now works at the Division of City Schools Manila post her completion of her Masters degree in Public Management and Governance. She moderated the panel engaging the flow of discussion with “Zoie” and “Kacey”, the two (2) college students who shared their mental health journey with the scholars.

Overall, this L&D learning series made the scholars understand why it is important to take care of their mental health and how should they be able to manage the challenges with the use of the right tools and support.
