FROM JOHN IVAN S. PASION, AN ATP SCHOLARSHIP GRADUATE

John Ivan S. Pasion, a recent graduate as Summa Cum Laude from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and an ATP scholarship recipient, is a testament to years of relentless dedication, perseverance, and unwavering support from his family, teachers, and friends. As he shared with ATP his testimony:
“I look forward to the day when I can return the kindness to those who were once like me: children whose dreams stretch beyond their material conditions.”
Born from hardworking parents
“As the youngest son of two humble market vendors, whose dreams stretch beyond the streets of Blumentritt—I was faced at an early age with the truth that these aspirations come with a hefty price. That reality did not stop me from trying; however, my family’s efforts and my own could only reach so far. Fortunately, before I officially entered high school, I was chosen to be a part of the Alumni Tree Project (ATP). Since the 7th grade, ATP has been of great help, providing not just financial support but a crucial support system that removed the distractions of economic hardship. This allowed me to focus fully on my academics and, most importantly, granted me the immense relief of being less of a financial responsibility on my family.”
A community with a helping hand
“The program offered me mentorship and a community that fostered my growth throughout my education. Now, as a recent graduate with a degree in Bachelor of arts in Communication, I am forever thankful to ATP for seeing the skills, talent, and knowledge beyond our material conditions. ATP truly was more than a helping hand for humble students like us. They were guidance, an enduring source of inspiration, and a family.”
Pay it forward mindset
“Now, with the solid foundation provided by ATP, I am actively preparing to build my career and pursue my goal of becoming a renowned artist in the creative industry. For this incredible opportunity, I, along with my batchmates and all those who come before and after us, are eternally grateful for your enduring assistance. I look forward to the day when I can return the kindness to those who were once like me: children whose dreams stretch beyond their material conditions.
Salamat, ATP!.”
